UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors are worn out over time and need to be replaced. When replacing them, it is crucial that the new handles are in line with the exact dimensions of the previous handle.

Inline Lever/Lever
A lever or lever door handle is a modern handle that can be used on new or replacement doors. This type of handle is available in a variety of designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The uPVC/Composite handles are made of tough materials and are perfect for doors with multiple points that require a robust design. The handles are inline and work with the same spindle as well as screw fixings, so they can be easily incorporated into existing or new uPVC/Composite doors.

Lever Pad
A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently than lever handles on doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are usually used on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in a variety of styles and finishes.

Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They work with a key to unlock a cylinder that is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with the pins inside the lock body, allow them to rotate a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors generally having different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder is crucial. It depends on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. External doors, for example are required to be fitted with cylinders with greater security and doors inside can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. In addition, some cylinders are available with extra features that increase security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to the other end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place, but when this isn't possible, you may remove it to take measurements. It is essential to avoid having a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.
The design of most newer cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in an opposite direction. This can help deflect the attack and protect your doors.
There are also cylinders that have been constructed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the lock's break line and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and easier way to gain access than using a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which can make it difficult to prove insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is positioned inside the base of your door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after usage. The handles were previously equipped with no spring, and would slide when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple feature is one of the most effective ways to fix this, and is an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in an open or closed position, as these are not always easy to close manually.
These spring cassettes were designed to be used with sprung multipoint locks. They are not compatible with handles that aren't sprung and you'll need to cut a hole in the backplate to allow them to fit. (Please look at the image for a more detailed diagram).
